E-Book Systems was incorporated in 1998 with the aim to provide consumers with an electronic experience virtually the same as using a hard copy book, magazine, photo album, report or catalogue.

E-Book Systems is a privately held company. It now has offices around the world in the USA, China, Japan, Korea, and Europe and is headquartered in Singapore.

FlipViewer®, their first product, was launched on CNET in May of 1998 followed 12 months later by FlipAlbum®. By July 2000, FlipAlbum® ranked #1 Weekly Download in the CNET Media Management category.

A mere 14 months later in September 2001, FlipAlbum® product sales past the 500,000 mark and over 1,000,000 trial downloads of FlipAlbum products had been made. The rest, as they say, is history and E-Book Systems has gone on from strength to strength.

1,000,000 FlipAlbum® products were sold by January 2003. The FlipPublisher® and FlipAnalyzer software were launched later in that year and the FlipAlbum® Recorder hardware launch came in the following year, 2004.

E-Book Systems have a policy of continual expansion and improvement of their product range. To that end, they now have a patent portfolio of 13 granted and 14 pending patents.

The E-Book system now includes software to handle every aspect of FlipBooks, from publishing to reading and from securing the authors rights to analyzing the effect of advertising in FlipBook magazines. And with Digital Flip® technology, multimedia content such as video, audio, animations, and images can be integrated in any digital publication.

The latest product, FlipViewer® Xpress was launched in January 2008. This takes the distribution of FlipBooks to a new level. FlipViewer® Xpress is a flash-based browser viewer that does not require download or installations, and it supports advanced features like Digital Right Management (DRM) and usuage tracking. (Please see the ‘Overview of Products’ page for further details of FlipViewer® Xpress and other software.)
